Remington has its share of good reviews of the 887, for example:. But I suspect that Mr. Randy Wakeman's 'Buyer Beware!' -type review, which collected quite a few negative findings of 887 owners, stymied Remington's early sales:. I guess that sometime I'll see what has been posted in the 'I Love My Remington' forum. The current price of about $400 for the more recent Tactical model is about half of the MSRP of the hunting model when it was first released, so it is certainly affordable.
It is rarely mentioned in the Tactical/HD forum, so you could please keep us up-to-date with your opinion of your new 887 Nitro Mag Tactical. Welcome to the Basement, E.T.' Good to read positive, as well as negative about any product. I really wanted that gun, but when I went to the gun shop they would have to order one, and they had the 870 express tactical, so I bought it. After looking at the Remington website at the 887 tactical I decided to have them go ahead and order one for me. When I get it this week I'll be sure to check it over very carefully, and make sure I'm ready every time I rack the slide at the range!I'm into the gun buying mode again. A Kimber CDP Ultra II, over a 1000 rounds of 45acp, CTC laser grips, a gun belt, mag carrier, 3 holsters, a fanny pack, 6 Kimber mags and 2 Remington shotguns in 4 weeks. I do have a fantastic wife, and we are swamped at work, and have been for the last 3 years.
Damn, I do feel lucky, or blessed. I am glad that you are enjoying success, and preparing yourself now for times to come. I love the Crimson Trace LaserGrips also, and here is something that you may like to try. I no longer try to setup my lasers for any particular distance. Rather, I compare the laser with a laser boresighter at night, and I set the laser parallel to the bore, with the two dots about 1' apart on a wall about 150' away. That way, the laser is not spot on at one distance, but it is only 1' off at any distance, near or far.

It looks way better than in the pictures. Feels much lighter than the 870 Express Tactical I bought the week before, although looking at the specs it's really not. The super recoil pad is much softer then the pad on the 870.
Will be to the range tomorrow for a report. Bought a bunch of slugs today, but could not find any 3.5. Should have some big fire out the barrel with the 3' slugs. I hope there are none of the problems reported early on in the 887 production run.
Howdy all!Newb to this forum, but wanted to add something to the OP's question. My brother-in-law is a HUGE duck/goose hunter. Loves pump shotguns, has a buttload of experience and quite a collection of pump guns to boot.He bought 2 of the 887 models for hunting last year and he had nothing but problems with both triggers. Remington told him they were aware of the problem and would send him new triggers, but they were back ordered because of still being in developement or something. After waiting and waiting, he did enough complaining to Remington that they agreed to buy them both back from him including covering his sales tax.His input on the 887 is, and I quote, 'a disgrace to the 870 line up'.Take it for what it's worth, but I passed on that thing and bought an 870P Marine Magnum. You never see a motorcycle parked outside a psychiatrist's office!
